This one? I’m still not over it.
As a Minneapolis engagement photographer, I’m always on the hunt for spaces that feel like my couples. Places with real energy, real style—not just another trendy backdrop. So when I discovered this vintage speakeasy jazz bar tucked away in the city, it just clicked. Dim lights. Velvet booths. Hidden doors in bookshelves. That old-world charm with a little edge. It was a total dream.
The couple didn’t want stiff or staged engagement photos. They wanted something that felt fun, meaningful, and a little cinematic. That kind of vision fits perfectly with my documentary-style, candid approach to portraits.
Shot on both digital and 35mm film photography, we leaned into the atmosphere of the place. A mix of lil ambiance and a lil flash photography.
What makes my engagement sessions different? We don’t rush. We ease in, get comfortable. It’s candid with a touch of editorial. Always stunning. Always personal.
